What up, kids. :)
Wow. I haven't written in this thing for while. I have been trying to keep up some of you kiddos- doing the stalker bit and reading up on your entries. :) Good stuff, I must say. Not too much is going on in my life right now. Summer went by way too quickly-- I think pyschologically, I'm still acting like it's summer. I've lost touch with quite a few people in the last few months, especially over the summer, so be expecting a call from Qin in the... near future. :) .. after this molecular genetics and biochem test, that is. Hope all is well- especially those in the New Orleans area. |

hey kiddos. :)
Wow. Haven't updated in a while. Today was my first day of summer break. whoo hoo! And guess how I spent it..? IN SCHOOL!!..??? How crazy is that. I tried out our new gym- had meetings and a reception. Tomorrow, my SECOND and LAST day of summer break- I'm spending half day at school too- again, receptions. SO- that's the story of Qin's life. This semester has definitely been interesting. I think I've had my share of life experiences these past few months- a lot of failures but I'd like to also think- successes. I'm still crazy.. boy-crazy. :p. Can't wait to go to church on Sunday- haven't gone this entire month! :( -QZ |

I tried to act normal today
So.. I went grocery shopping today. And it just felt WEIRD. I hadn't been grocery shopping in months! So when I was bagging that kiwi.. I thought, hey..this feels oddly normal. Dear God. What am I going to be like when I'm in med school? probably forget how to eat. I watched American Idol tonight! The last girl's twins were majorly spilling. But overall, it was good. :)a good brain suck. |

I did a crazy thing a minutes ago. I was digging through my old files and found some of the AIM conversations that I had saved from the past. (And yes, I did that. :p) When I was reading some of this stuff, it was really sad at first cause you realize how MUCH people have changed. and that words are just that- words. Not just loosing touch with them, but how values and feelings have changed. But then. I'm thinking now how blessed I am to have known them at that time. haha. Not going to get on the soap box about people have blessings and not valuing them. But. Just wanted to share that. :) Call it a brain burp, if you will. Have a great night all. -QZ |

stepping outa the box
which is what I have been doing.. exhilarating in a sense. Sometimes. it's like.. Qin? Who are u? What happened to that shy little girl. Ok. so I'm still shy. and still little. but it's different. This month has been so incredibly busy!! classes like organic is almost killing me, but I'm winning the game so far. Physics isn't too bad. though that woman.. with the ugly accent from VHHS.. physics teacher, scarred me. But I'm learning to like it more and more. TOMORROW'S THE PAGEANT! I didn't realize how much work goes into pageants. Some of these girls that I'm competing against are hardcore pageant girls. They know how to strut their stuff. The theme is Viva Los Vegas. It's gonna be pretty. We had technical rehearsal last night.. didn't get out till MIDNIGHT!. I notice that when the "show" begins, the girls change and puts on their game face. They're no longer as nice to each other.. etc. hmm. One of the best part about the pageant is they have great food backstage for us to pig out on throughout the whole thing. I almost missed my number today cause I was munching away. Anywaz. hope life is goin well with you kiddos too. -Q Current Mood: ecstatic |

I will never look at dancing the same again
So tonight, I went to my first dance number rehearsal. The theme is Viva LosVegas. We danced with feather fans. I have new respect for dancers. At one point, I felt fear nippin'. "What if I fall. TURN?? HOW?" But after 2 hours .and them showing us how to walk/pose.. hopefully, It looked right. That was crazedly insane. |

update!
Haven't visited this site in a while. I notice that most of us aren't posting anymore either. What's been going on in Qin's life... hm. There's really two main things this month that's really taking up my time (aside from the school, of course). 1) Yin and I are helping to host a AAUW Financial Conference at Birmingham Southern College on Oct. 30th in the Great Hall. The conference's name is "Making Cents of your Dollars, and Dollars from your Cents". so PLEASE COME (!!!) if you can. Free food. Door prizes. What's not to like? 2) I am competing the Miss UAB Pageant. That's on Oct. 21st at the Alys Steven Center. Free for UAB students, 5 dollars for other students. And yes.. that includes the typical pageant stuff: swimwear, evening gown, 2 questions, talent, and an interview.. all that jazz. I'm actually really like school. Even though, being a biology major, I'm not taking any biology this semester ::knock on wood:: The only thing I could complain about is lack of sleep, and sometimes this general discontent.. comes with being a hormonal teen?.. maybe. Speaking of hormones, I will never understand them, or guys. I've concluded that both still (and maybe for a LONG time) will walk hand in hand. |

yep. it's been a while
I watched Eyes Wide Shut for the first time today...it could be really deep or really shalow. Deep: Like Conrad would say, everyone has a heart of darkness. Shallow: Everyone's horny. The movie gave me a very unsatifactory ending. I think I may have annoyed the heck outa my fellow tea-drinkers (sorry Pocus) by asking so many questions.. but hey.. I got a lot of the predictions right. Finished my lit. analysis last night. EIGHT pages double space. hmm. should I be worried or happy about that? we shall see. Right now.. stuff's been hectic, but not. perception.. apparently is key. Guys are scum. BUT. I guess.. girls are too. cause scum breeds scum. um. no bitterness. :P uh. welps. hope everyone's having a great day. -Q |
